Welcome to Cornerstone Junior High!

On the surface junior high students are like cans of energy drinks. They’re bright, loud, and able to go from zero to 60 in three small sips. Yet, on the inside students are filled with excitement, curiosity…and they’re still filled with energy. At Cornerstone Junior High, we care about junior highers where they are for who they are! We want to create an environment of excitement, fun, and energy because that’s what junior highers want! Yet, most importantly we always point them to Jesus in real, relevant, and innovative ways. We hope your junior higher will be able to make new friends, learn more about Jesus, and live it all out as a junior higher!

I have this crazy love for junior high students especially when there’s this perfect combination of energy and knowing Jesus’ love! Energy and Jesus? Yeah that’s kind of me. I’ve been doing youth ministry for more than 12 years and pretend I’m super smart with a masters degree in theology from Fuller Seminary. I’m also a father (and foster father) of four: Kiley, Bella, Eddie, and Carter!

Natalie Mendez
Natalie MendezJunior High Associate Director
Natalie gave her life to Jesus when she was 15 years old. Soon after that, she began to serve at her local church as a youth leader and worship band director. Natalie moved to Dallas, TX to attend Christ For the Nations College to be trained for full-time ministry. She graduated from CFN with a Bachelors in Practical theology in December of 2011. Natalie moved to Los Angeles to help serve at Oasis of Hollywood a non profit organization focused on mentoring teens in East Hollywood. She also served on staff at a church plant in North Hollywood as the Creative Director. Natalie has a heart to make a difference in peoples lives wherever she may find herself. Natalie is passionate about young people and her desires are to see teenagers know Jesus and discover and grow their passion for God.
Savannah Menger
Savannah MengerJunior High Events Coordinator
I am the event planner for JHM! My passion is finding new ways for our junior high kids to find Jesus and grow in their faith while having fun. I love working with all of the kids to show them they have a place where they belong. When I am not at Cornerstone I am the proud mom of four amazing kids and am married to my wonderful husband. I enjoy spending time with my family and my dogs. I have a passion for the ministry and for all God has planned!
Megan Weaver
Megan WeaverJunior High Intern
Hey everyone! My name is Megan. I just moved to Arizona from Iowa to pursue ministry. I am currently a freshman at GCU. I absolutely love getting to work with the next generation of the church! It is my passion to share with kids the truth about God and who he is and says they are. This is such a critical time in their lives, and I think it is so important that they have a place like this junior high ministry to come to learn and figure out God.
